Do you find it hard to fall asleep?

You may have histamine intolerance!

Histamine is a neurotransmitter in your body that plays a role in immune function, sleep, appetite, motivation, learning, memory, and sexual behavior.

If you are estrogen dominant or have an underactive thyroid you are more prone to be histamine sensitive.

Too much histamine can keep you awake and make you feel wired and tired!

Common symptoms of histamine intolerance include:

• Irritability, depression, anxiety, brain fog, vertigo/dizziness

• Rashes, flushing, hives

• Joint pain

• Racing heart, palpitations, hypertension, arrhythmia

• Altered bowel function, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, non-celiac gluten sensitivity, reflux/GERD/heartburn

• Nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, difficulty breathing

• Insomnia, fatigue

• Headache, migraines

• Abnormal menstrual cycle

• Tissue swelling

Your gut helps eliminate excess histamine so make sure its healthy.

Try a low histamine diet !

Some high histamine foods include cheese, yogurt, chocolate, alcohol, fermented foods, reheated food, canned fish, cured meats, tomatoes, spinach and most citrus fruits.
